can anyone shed some light on how i can not long for bass when i switch from my chevy lumina to my yota cause it's gonna be hard to go from all the bass i can handle to two 4" speakers they will be alpine of course but still.............please help soothe my growing insanity, thanks

I have a 10" in my regular cab 93. I used this enclosure http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...T6510SS&tp=554

It's a tight fit and I have to have my seat about 5" forward from being all the way back. I'm 5'10 and it's almost uncomfortable to drive for long periods of time with it like this but I live with it. Also with it cranked the passenger gets a back massage as the sub faces the seat and shakes it pretty good.

what it did to put 10's in reg cab truck is when i bought the truck it had like 4'in subs in it and took the box that the 4'in out and i traced the 10 on the back and i cut it out with a jig saw and it fit perfect because the back of the sub fit where the out sub was. it sound retarted but it worked

on mine i just use a box from a 80s camaro, you know the ones they put in the back window. MTX. have it behind the passenger side of the bench, the passenger is a little uncomfortable, but im as comfy as can be. .

Has anyone picked up a few of those JL Audio 6w0 and tried making a box out of those? They have pretty low mounting depth and they're small but they are true subwoofers by JL Audio.

I've heard stories of guys using 4-5 of these 6w0's and putting them in a custom box behind the back seat in 2001-2004 Tacoma Double Cab's.

I had an 8" JL 8w6 behind the seat of my 94 regular cab truck. The key to it was the small airspace. They only called for .75 cube so I just made a small box that would fit on the passenger side and stuffed the heck out of it. My seat was only 1 notch forward on the drivers side and 2 on the passenger side. It actually didn't sound too bad either.

I had an Isuzu p'up before that that I sawzalled the back out of. 10' of accordion boot later and I had an air tight crawl space to the bed.

2 8's in truck boxes can hit pretty good.

my cousin had 4 8's in a custom box behind the seat. the box was like an oversize truck box. you'll have to get creative with shallow mounting subs, polyfil, and tuned ports. a sealed box will give you more SQ but i'm assuming you're after louder bass.

yeah, that polyfill will help out a good bit...but you can also run those shallow mount subs in sealed boxes and polyfill with good bass output...

put it behind the passenger seat. My friend had a 12 in a shallow box behind the passenger seat and i was still able to ride in it pretty comfortably and im 6'1. it wasnt even a truck box just a shallow one. The new alpine type s subs are really shallow now.

Here's my setup. Thankfully the previous owner installed and built it so I didn't have any headaches trying to figure out how to cram it in there BTW, I'm 6'3 and can still fit comfortably in the car with the sub back there.

this is what i put in mine it hits hard and sounds good.http://www.kicker.com/06/kicker_home.html just make sure you give it a good amount of power cause it will sound like crap if you dont. alot of places it will come with a box to that is really thin so it fits behind the passenger seat

the type r may be a bit to big to fit, b/c it has a fairly large basket on it, which would probably require a deeper box than in the previous pics on here. not saying it can't be done, but it might be easier to get two 10s or 12s that aren't as deep and go with them...

my friend had a 98 regular cab and he has a 10" sub set up kinda like aaronk's setup but personally i cant stand riding in his truck with him, to make it fit the seat has to be slid up pretty far.
