H4 Head Light Conversion

Has anyone done a h4 headlight conversion using a Hella kit or something similar ?
Any amperage problems with Hella H4 Xenon 100/80 bulbs? Frankly I’m a little concerned of over working my electrical system. I don't want to melt anything.
Yes I understand they are not street legal.

being an 1987 you might want to upgrade your wires. i know in my 1991 i am using 80/100W Hella H4 bulbs on the stock wires. and i know that alot of surf owners in the UK can also use 100W bulbs on the stock wires.

How ever i dont know about older Yota wires.

Not on my truck, but on my Supra (which is almost identical headlight wise), I installed Hella housings, and HIDs. I wired them right off the battery, with a relay to turn them on.

Do a search for 4crawler and check out his website. He sells versions of his upgrades wiring harness and discusses the different h4 style housings.

Great information, great products.

The Hella conversion was one of the best things I did, but I'm only running stock wattage H4 lights. I love the light output. Far wider and better spread out than the crappy sealed beams.

I run the hella XEON blue 80/100w h4 bulbs in my e-codes. Stock wiring, and im loving it!
