Angry grey smoke, smells like fuel, burns SO rich

my 90 22re pickup. i cant figure out why im smoking. just rebuilt the top end, because it was smoking. found some bad valve seals, and a bad valve. after the rebuild, im still smoking. id the thing where you replace the idle up valve with a bolt, capped off the vacuum likes because i thought it might be burning ATF. still smoking. the smoke is grey, sometimes black when i rev it really high. i would assume that this is fuel right? smells like fuel. The only thing that i could think of would be a bad o2 sensor...could this cause that much smoke? and yes, its ALOT of smoke.
note: its not my t chain, AFM, head gasket, or valve seals

Are you sure the valves are set correctly? If the exh valve doesn't close all the way, you'll get no compression and you're just pumping unburned fuel into the exhaust.

Are all the plugs firing? Use a timing light on each wire.

Do you have any codes?

If you plug off vacuum lines at random, there isn't much chance you'll ever get it to run right.

Sure. Along with lots of other things. But one of the things you do in a top-end job is check/adjust the valve clearance. If you did that, then I would check out lots of other things (easier things) first. If you didn't adjust the valves, they are likely to be off. (because one of the things you did was grind the valves)

yeah, i used the valce grinding compound. and adjusted the valves. the only thing that i could imagine is that i adjusted the back exhaust valve wrong. it was kinda hard to get to. either way, i doubt that it would cause this much smoke. im pretty sure its rings. sooo, bye bye yota. thanks for the help tho man.
