Very nice set up. I love those KM2's. I am thinking of getting 33x10.5's as well. So the power loss is really bad is it? If I did go to 33's I wouldn't be able to change gears for a while so my question is, is your truck driveable for the time being or should I just wait until I can get both at the same time? Also how much work is it to swap the gears and how many hrs of work would it cost me if I had to take it to a shop??? Also where does one find 4.88's? Do I need a specific make or is a 4.88 a 4.88? Sorry, don't mean to do any thread hijacking.

P.S. I have a 92 3VZE 4runner.

I just have a 2'' body lift and new springs in the back so its factory suspension and a 2'' body lift. I wish I would of gone with a 3'' though, my tires rub a little when I stuff em.

Ummm the power loss is noticeable but you can get around that with shifting later and more throttle. My MPG's went down 3 in town and 2 on the highway. If you want more info about gears id search. Im not the best to explain.

I ditched my 35x12.50/15 Baja Claws for some 33x10.50/15 KM2's and they're certainly much better on road. Significantly quieter at highway speeds. Now I can remove some of the 3" body lift. These are on LandCruiser steel wheels

Tubbs - I have the old style BFG MT's on my runner... same size. I'm running 5.71's and they're great. Theres a whole bunch of debate on here regarding this issue but 5.29 or 5.71 is where you need to look.

ARENT THOSE abit overkill for 33's , 35, or bigger they would be fine, but 33's?

Probably for a 5 speed, but not for an auto/3.slo.

the bigger problem with 571s is too little contact on the pinion. if you have a 5spd 22re, 33s and 529s is really peppy. probbly the best gear ratio for getting some go juice. that's what I ran in my 85 with detroits F/R it was perfect

I have 35s and 4.10s. slow as s'not, but my hiway mpg rocks. Im hoping for some pull yard 488s

Yeah... I've seen and heard all of the articles on how weak 5.71's are and how 5.29's are sooo much better... Have fun with those 4.10's on 35's N16. Haha

Exactly. Kinda wish I'd gotten them for my '83, but the deal on the 5.29's fell in my lap first.

Back on topic, though...did you get your 4th 33" yet? I 2nd the flex shots, cause I know there's places near you to flex it out, I used to live up there!
