Going on a road Trip, got some questions

Hey guys, in about a week I will be taking my '94 4runner on about a three hour trip down the highway. I will also be pulling a small trailer with two three wheeler's on it.I am a little skeptical of doing this. with 31" tires and a tired motor my foot is usually just about on the floor while going down the highway with just a little bit of space between the pedal and the floor, which I use to stand on to downshift to go up a hill. My question is, should i have overdrive on or off? What about ect? I want to do this with the least amount of wear and tear possible. Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated, thanks.I am also going to treat the engine with seafoam and see if we cant maybe gain a little power because she is just a dog.

Overdrive should be off. Towing in o/d puts extra strain on not only the transmission, but the motor as well. O/d is designed to drop the engine out of its peak torque range and into a more fuel efficient range. In addition, this can overheat your trains, killing it even faster.

As far as the ectsetting, I wouldn't bother. This just adjusts the shift points in the trans to make it feel a little peppy. It will hold out longer, just using more fuel.

Ok thanks, that's what I thought but I wasn't quite sure. The last thing I want to do is fry my transmission

This is actually a good rule to follow with most if not all automatic transmissions.

Ok thanks, I didn't know if it was worth it since the trailer will be farely light
