It is just about a certainty that this adaptor is to mate a Toyota RF1-A case to GM 4L60E.
The T'case on your auto tranny is specific to it , far as I know. I might be wrong, but I very seriously doubt that any adaptors exist to mate Toyota cases from Toyota automatic trannys to anything else. People just don't use those. |

That adaptor, an RF1-A case, custom driveshafts, and crossmember mods.

Alright so before I buy this T-case I need to be 100% sure it's an RF1-A so I'm asking you expert's, I know it says it is but things on the internet can be "miss marked" sometimes... thanks for the help https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.yot...5f28f2de9b.jpg |
That looks like an RF1-A case, but it is a Forward shift case. You need a top shift case.
Shift rails and stuff can be got to change a forward shift case to a top shift case, but it's easer to just find a top shift case. |

The case has to be mostly disassembled to change the shift rails.
I think Low Range Offroad sells conversion kits, there are likely others who do. Not too big a deal if you were gonna put some 4.7 crawler gears too.:nerd: |
Alright here's my other question, will a RF1-A hold up to a 350hp V8?
|
Given that the RF1A was originally designed to operate behind the 120hp 22-re, I would say probably not in it's stock configuration. It's a strong case, but 3x the power is a lot of added stress. For sure you'll want to upgrade the input shaft from 21 spline to 23 spline. Marlin Crawler can help you with that. There are other parts you can get from them to strengthen things as well. Of course, at that point you've moved the problem to the differentials and axles, which also were never designed for that kind of power.
It will also depend on your tire size and driving style. |
