When I stop the car and check under the hood gas drips from the indicated spot. (Theres 2 photos). What is that thing and should i replace it professionally or is it simple enough to do myself? Thanks guys.

pressure-regulator's in the back; I bet it's the banjo-fitting on the inlet line
if you're not sure what you're looking at
You could try to fit a wrench on it and see if you can snug it down; they don't normally back out, but there's just 2 copper washers on it. the worst you'd have to do is pull the bolt out and replace the 2 washers. unless the line has rusted through, but I highly doubt that...
and comon ozzie, that's a 22re in the photo, you know that

I don't know if that's something to be proud of though...
the truck had a rough first few months after I first got it; it was constantly covered in Florida mud... it was fun, but I regret it now...
hey so what prize do I win!

who told you you had to replace it, the dealer? some two-bit mechanic?
there's not a hole lot that can get damaged on the fuel real itself... there's no moving parts or anything... the worst that could happen is those copper gasket's could fail.
unless it was messed up during prior maintanence... I guess it's possible to cross thread that banjo-bolt...

brass washers are cheaper, I'd start with those

of note, there was only one gasket with minor scratches in it. I dont know the official amount needed. can i just get those at autozone or should i hit the dealer?
did we decide on it being called the banjo-kazooie fitting gasket?
congrats on the people saying fuel pressure regulator, thats what the two mechs who look at it said.
can anyone think of a good prize?
ps: thanks for the post interest, im really appreciative of the help!
