Fuse locations, diagrams, etc. (especially Horn)

Greetings,

I'm officially a YotaTech newbie now, but just bought my second 1st generation 4Runner. This one is an '88 V6 with an auto. It's a pretty clean truck which naturally needs a little more TLC than originally anticipated.

I just failed the NC state inspection because the horn wouldn't work. I never even thought to try testing that. Oh well. I'm stuck indoors now but I did manage to find a small fuse box under the dash on the driver's side, but no diagram of what fuse does what. Is the Horn fuse in this location? I figure I'll start with the fuse and trace the fault from there.

And I'll need to replace the incorrect late model "small" fuses with the correct "normal" size blade fuses. Yeah, I was disturbed to see them wedged in there. I think I've got a few electrical "repairs" to repair, including the ignition switch (wired into a push button. clean, but rigged), and the rear window (toggle switch ).

Any suggestions for pinpointing the horn fuse? The owners manual is missing.

Thanks!

you could always buy a chilton or a haynes manual from an auto parts store. they both have wiring diagrams in them. theat could help.. or online someone has to have a FSM..

Would help to know what sort of vehicle you are asking about. I have some fuse info. from my '85 4Runner on the web page below:

I should have done a search first. I think I may have found a pdf of a factory service manual for the '88 4Runner. I actually have the Haynes manual but didn't see a fuse diagram in there, and the wiring diagram is just split into early or late wiring. Haynes is a good starter manual, but not that great for specifics (in my opinion).

I also found several threads here on the same subject. I should be set. Thanks for the help though!

Double score! I'm missing most of the bolts for the top and the window doesn't work. I think I know why ;)
