fuel pressure regulator
hi guys!
Need some help here please. I have an 87 4Runner with the 22RE engine, it seems that my fuel pressure regulator is leaking gas. It has a plastic cap on the end and is leaking from all around it. I removed the cap and it has a hole in it. I have been looking for a replacement on autozone, and the ones that are shown are different. I took my off and it shows just a straight threaded rod and no hose connections on it. The one's shown on autozone have a hose fitting on one side and on the end and have different thread (smaller thread). I looked at several years and they all seem to be the same except for mine. does anybody know anything about this and can guide me in the right direction. thanks... |
You need a fuel damper.

can you better explain?
fuel damper? |
The fuel damper helps obsorbe the fuel pulses in the fuel rail, and when they go bad they can start leaking, the fuel damper is located on the front of the fuel rail. The fuel presure regulator is located on the back of the fuel rail and has a vacuum hose conected to it.
