Fuel Filter Tubing Routing Question (1987 22R PU)
Hello,
I was changing my fuel filter and forgot to mark the outgoing direction and supply tubes. I don't think I got them mixed up but I figured I would check in with the knowledgeable folks here. After installing the fuel filter, I stuck my hand inside the frame rails and traced the tubes with my hand to confirm that the tubes were each going in a reasonable direction. I have attached a picture showing the tubing direction and how I attached the tubing.
I traced one tube back towards the gas tank (red) and one tube (yellow) which seemed to be running along the frame rail towards the front of the truck (i.e. fuel pump/carb). The outgoing arrow marker on the fuel filter is the port nearest to the outside of the truck when mounted. I looked at the FSM but the exploded view showing the fuel lines is more of an isometric drawing. I think I took an intuitive approach but can anyone confirm that I got it right? Hopefully I'm not running the fuel backwards through the pleats of the filter. Here is the picture:
Thanks in advance,
jb9
