Frames the Same
Are the frames about the same for 86 to 95 4x4 trucks and 4runners, aside from the length of the frame. I mean will the front end interchange, rear axle interchage. What is the same and what is not.
Thanks for the help |
If you would ask exactly what you are wanting to do -- someone may be able to help you??

I am putting a roll cage on top of the frame, and want to know what kind of changes i have to make to follow the frames, or will one size fit all??? Also i want to know about spension differences what will interchange, and what will not. Hope this helps |
The 86 was solid axle with leaf springs front and rear. I believe the 95's went to coil springs all around and IFS up front.
I looked under a 92 and the rear end of the frame looks different than my 88 (most of the differences are related to suspension mounting points). I guess it all depends on what you intend to bolt you cage to. Other than the mounting points, the frames look to be the same shape. But that's just from eyeballing them. What you need to do is get the frame dimesensions from the FSM for both the 86 and the 95 to see how close they are. |
85 was last year for solid axles, or am I wrong?

85 was the last year of the solid axle, from 86-95 the trucks had leaves out back and torsion bar ifs up front. The 95.5 had coils up front and leaves in back.

WOOOOOO kyle has it right, they bend different and body mounts are different. i got sliders for a 94, and went to put them on my 89(last year for 1st gen) runner and no love, then on my 80 truck and no love
