Frame rust/holes....how bad is it?

Just noticed the frame rust has gotten through all the way and I can push through places and there are holes in other places. I figure this might be it for the truck, but how would it be repaired and how far gone is it? This is near the front of the leaf springs...

Anything can be fixed .

The real question is it cost effective to you.

Your asking this I guess you don`t have the skill or equipment to do this yourself or you would have just fixed it.

If you have a friend it might be doable if you need to pay time and materials it will BER !! ( Beyond Economical Repair)

The prep work is where the time adds up fast.

Then this is something only to really be figured up close and in person.

Either you don`t get under your truck much or it went really fast .

Fix it

Make this your parts truck buy another one in better shape

Part it out

Sell it complete as is.

You could also try to find a frame at a junkyard, or maybe someone could ship one from a non-rust state if you are willing to pay the shipping. I believe Pick-n-Pull in my area charges about $250 for one, and in California it is easy to find one fairly rust free. The shipping could be kind of expensive. You could also have it galvanized or powder coated before you put it on your truck to help slow down the rust.

It all comes down to the bottom line .

How much do you want to spend ??

Answer that question then go from there.

Price the shipping cost of a frame from California to have a idea

Then you would be buying it sight unseen

Personally I wouldn't drive that truck.
