Fixing Seat slider things

ok both of my front seat will not nove I took them out and both sides are different drivers side has a wire type set up and the passenger side is a cable operation, so my question is has any one fixed these before and is there a way I can rig the drivers side, so its moveable?

Well, on my drivers side seat, the cable somehow found a way to stretch out alot. So I removed the seat and pulled the cable tight and bent it so it would stay tight.... does that make sence?
Now the slider works great.

mine just (untwisted?) itself... they go through a hole on the bracket that the lever controls, and mine just came out... a pair of needle nose pliers, and 5 minutes, and my seat was back to working condition, so i could teach my girlfriend to drive stick...
