First tech - vacuum leak?
So, like I said in the other posts - oil change and spark plugs to come. Done and done. I went with dino-oil with plans to do the autoRX thing and switch to syn but it looks like I am losing some oil below so that will have to wait until I investigate. I certainly don't want to make things any worse.
I used AutoLite Platinum plugs.. opinions welcome. The reason I replaced the plugs is because things felt a big sluggish. I know how everyone talks about how slow the 3.0 is but mine is less perky than it should be I think. Things are definitely a bit smoother with the new plugs/fresh oil, but I am suspecting that maybe there is a vacuum leak causing some hesitation upon acceleration. I hadn't messed around under the hood much until last night. I don't think I have ever seen such a mess of vacuum hoses. The  QUESTION  I guess is where to start looking for the air leak and other potential power losses. Thanks for reading! |
Oh. And my next project will be to replace the blower motor resistor. It only works on fan speeds 3 and 4 (of 4).
