Finally got pics up of my 91

Ok heres the truck I've had for a couple years now. Its a 91 4x4. I bought it for $2000 with a lot of issues and now I wish I had taken pics all along the way. It came with the 4" lift and 3" body on 35's. I took off the body lift and replaced all the hardware to put it down on 33's. I have also rebuilt the front wheel bearings and hubs. Replaced front pads and rotors. Rebuilt cv axles. Replaced U-joints. Rehung the bumpers on rewelded brackets (they came on the truck barely tacked on). Replaced the heater core and most of the interior. Almost all the fasteners were missing. Removed and replaced the old broke down tool box. And a lot of other little things along the way.

Right now I'm in the middle of doing the headgasket. The PO told me it was blown and he didn't know why. But he had previously used a metal rail timing kit, so that would be fine. Guess what I found in the oil pan. Chunks of plastic from the first and second sets of plastic rails. Its been a lot of work, but It'll get done and be right one day.

almost looks like the truck was submerged in water at some time. what kind of lift components are you using?

I don't know what kind of lift it has. It was on there when I got it. All the brackets are painted with a hammered grey pait if that helps. It seems to be a good enough kit, it all feels and handles real solid.

Just out of curiosity, what makes you think it's been submerged? Mabey I missed something. I know the motor mounts and some of the frame have some surface rust. The guy I bought it from never went in the mud and lived at the beach. It didn't have of the lubricating crud caused by oil leaks that a lot of these have. It did however get a good coat of sodium silicate all over everything when a radiator hose broke. Its a white powdery looking stuff that won't wash off for anything.

it's probably just from living near the coast. i was looking at the rust and what looks like a lot of oxidation in the engine compartment.

That oxidation look is the block sealer that I used in the coolant to stop the HG from leaking. That was a mistake I'll never make again.

There's a power distribution block behind there feeding my radio and lighter plug. Those switches control ground lights under the truck. There is one on each frame rail. They work great for stopping to look at a track or something when riding in the woods, and I put them down there to be out of the way.

Nice truck.

Take a few pics of the front suspension and I'll tell you what kit you have on it...
