feels like my 4runner is flooding out when started durning cold weather
I have a problem with my 4runner.....I get into it and she fires up without and problems but it seems to flood out after starting in the mornings and then once warmed up she seems to be fine.I then drive to work about 25miles one way and park her and she sits all day from 7:30 a.m. until I get off work at 5:00 p.m.....I get in her and start her up she fires right away but feels like she is flooding out like some of the old carbs used to do, then once warmed up she is fine except , I cant seem to get her to idle smooth sometimes it's up on rpm's some days and seems to idle lower some days (always in gear it does this but will idle fine 800 rpm's per FMS in park and nuteral
any suggestiong

thanks for the input
I do let her warm up for about 15-20 minutes in the really cold mornings here in Griffin GA it's been really cold here didn't make it above 40 yesterday and it'll be in the teens tonight and the problem seems to be worse when we have this really cold weather

Seafoam follow the directions on the can for putting it directly in the engine - I'd do that with half a can then dump the other half in the gas tank if it was less than half full.

Since it starts right up, I'm going to rule out (at least for now) any problem with the cold start injector & time switch.
If I had to guess, I'd start with the idle air valve / auxilary air valve underneath the throttle body. There's a good chance that it's stuck, or is not getting coolant flowing around it and not compensating for the engine temperature properly. It performs similarly to how the fast-idle cam would on a carburetor- it allows some air to bypass the throttle plate resulting in a higher idle when cold, and as the engine warms up (the valve on your truck has, or is supposed to have, coolant circulate through it) the valve closes, lowering the idle speed.
Given that you say sometimes it's fine and other times it's not, I'd say start by checking that the coolant lines to and from as well as the valve itself, are not plugged- it does happen.
Also, it may be also possible that the coolant temp sensor is malfunctioning and causing the ecu to inject the incorrect amount of fuel for the given engine temperature; or that the throttle position sensor is malfunctioning, sending the ecu incorrect information about the throttle-plate position, making the ecu want to enter closed loop operation when it shouldn't.

Continues to flood out
Just a update...(95 4runner 3.0 EFI SR5 4x4 179,500 miles all stock)
I still have the flooding out issue. The weather here is getting warmer and the flooding out still happens so I don't feel that it is temperature related? OR maybe it is...****50lows & 60-70 high
I went out yesterday and started the 4runner after it was sitting all night Friday and it started right up like usual but with a flooding problem (no CEL)and will smooth out within a few minutes.I turned the engine off after normal operating temp was reached.I then let the 4runner sit for about 15 minutes or so I restarted the engine and it was flooding out when warm.It did smooth out when I rev it up.I then turned the engine off and let it sit over night and got up this morning Sunday and started the engine like usual it fired right up,but with a flooding out.I let the engine smooth out and shut it down for about 15 or so minutes.I then went to restart the engine and the same thing flooding out.
I can here in the exhaust tail pipe some missing vary faint not to loud.I think maybe I have a leaking fuel injector?but don't smell any gas at all.I have never smelled any gas around the engine during what I call flooding stages(like the carb did on my ex highlux 22R).
I can raise the rpms and can here a faint miss and a vibration in my front bumper could the injectors cause all this?
I would appreciate any more advice
Dwayne
