engine problems
i have a 94 toyota pickup 4x4 22re automatic and have had some problems i cant seem to figure out. When i am under the hood and press the throttle fast the engine wants to stall out. it will stall out if i keep pressing the throttle quick. i donk know whats going on. tps is adjusted to specs. please help
fuel filter. unplug tps and see how it does.
i have replaced the fuel filter and when i unplug the tps the idle goes up and the truck runs fine. jus not good acceleratiaon. its an automatic so i need the tps plugged in for it to shift smoothly.
check all the simple stuff first.
Grounds plugs/ wires air filter clean throttle body make sure the tps is adjusted correctly only after all that is checked, you may have a bad tps or fuel pump |
you say the TPS is adjusted, but is the voltage reading right?
i have it adjusted correctly and it is a new tps. lets see how do you check the voltage with a digital meter. will it work the same as the analog meter? also i did say i washed my engine bay down and i believe it started right after that. the engine overheated once but it ran fine before i washed the bay down. and the tps was replaced after the engine bay was washed. One more problem the engine misses quite a bit when you keep it at a steady 2000 rpm... i dont kno?

Spay the electrical connections with wd40 because it may have gotten water in them .
there is no water in the plug. i sprayed some compressed air and blew out the conector. i still dont get the whole missing problem
take off distributor cap and look for moisture.sure sounds like your problem,
i have replaced the cap with a new one and i am sure there is no moisture in the cap.
what ever hapened to this thread? my 3.o has a low idel wh the TPS plug in and when its un pluged it idles just fine 800 I would realy like to know how this ended
:bang: what i find really frustrating about this thread is that everyone has a common problem, engine runs better without TPS. and in this whole thread no one actually went and double checked the TPS with a multimeter. i'm not saying the TPS is the problem but it sure sounds like it is worth checking if the motor runs better with it unplugged.

here is a lesson for everyone, don't assume, go check, it is easy to do, and its better to be sure. |
