Doug thorley 3.0 header guys ....

I just had my doug thorley headers installed on my 3.0 4runner
And have a question for those of you who have them .

On the passenger side where the header connects to the L-pipe then the the L-pipe connects to the Y-pipe , well the L-pipe the connects to the header on the passenger side on my install is going about 1/4 - 3/4 under the front drive shaft , I know the front drive shaft only spins and won't move up and down but the guy at the muffler shop told me it's running under the drive shaft and close to it, because I have a 4 inch lift ? For the guys out there with Doug thorley headers on the 3.0 4runners with a 4 or 6 inch lift is this how your headers are connected as well ?? Thanks.

heres what it looks like

That looks horrible... I wouldn't think the lift would affect it in anyway. I mean if you didn't have a lift then the driveshaft would be up higher giving you a larger gap between the pipe and and drive shaft. I'd try to tuck that thing on up under there... If possible

true , because of the lift it tilted the drive shaft down a little bringing it close to the exhaust tubes , but we used all the tubes doug thorley provided with the kit and this was the only way it connects , to make it go over the drive shaft we would have to do some cutting and welding and maybe even a new angled tube. dont think this will be a problem thou , just looks a little odd to me ??

I thought the crossover was behind the engine and above the bellhousing so the exhaust dropped down on the drivers side like the stock exhaust.

I made a custom crossover underneath on my 3.4 swap headers, but I ran it above the front driveshaft so it is out of the way.

I would not run that setup.

Well after doing some searching on some threads on here and checking out some pictures that's the way the pipe runs under the drive shaft . The crossmember behind it will hit first before the tubes if I bottom out. But one very important thing I read on hear and was also warned by my mechanic is how close a fuel line and some wires run right next to the header so gonna be wrapping those in header tape wrap .
