Do OEM Toyota timing components have any branding on them?
I just did the timing chain on my 1990 22re. It's got 190k miles on it. It's had the 'start up chain rattle' for at least as long as I've owned it (2 years), even with OEM Toyota oil filters.
When I pulled out the old timing stuff, to my surprise, it looked almost perfect. Guides fully intact and barely worn, everything within FSM specs. Nothing says "Toyota" or "Aisin" or "OSK" or anything like that, like I'd kinda expect it to if it was OEM. I've read that OSK is OEM, and my new OSK tensioner actually says OSK on it.
My question is, does the original factory stuff say anything on it?
I'm wondering if I just pulled an original factory set that was working great and good for another 190k miles or if I pulled cheapie replacement parts from a few years ago. The oil pump and water pump were in great shape and said Toyota on them. The cover said Toyota too.
