As per the title. Does anyone know for sure if Toyota offer the diesel as a factory option in 1988 in Canada.
I know that they dropped it in 1986 in the states, but continued it for a little while longer in Canada. I also know for sure that in 1987 it was available in Canada... and after much searching I can not find a definitive answer if it was availible in 88.
The seller of this truck(88 4wd reg cab) isn't near it for a couple days, and it's a long drive for me to check the truck out, and look at the vin to know for sure.
I'm not interested if it's an engine swap, mostly because I've seen more hack job swaps then good ones. But if it is the ultra rare diesel 4x4 I'm definitely making the drive to go look.

But the long and short of it is, the seller, like so many I have encountered is a devious twit.
It might be a factory diesel, though I'm doubtful, but only after 3 phone calls discussing everything that is wrong with it, does he finally mention that it doesn't run... Cracked head (making me think it was a 2L-TE swap.)
Grr this searching for decent older toyota's is the most frustrating thing on the planet. Good ones are sold in hours, and the rest are grossly misrepresented.
