diamond plate corner armor for 1st gen 4runner?

I keep seeing Jeeps and EBs with that cool diamond-plate corner armor, like so:

Does someone make similar armor for 1st gen 4Runners?
(Looks like it might be just within my fab capabilities but there are a lot of projects already in my queue. )

I don't think it would look good on a first gen. Mainly cause they have much rounder corners. Jeeps have completly verticle sides that would alow for the armor to fit the lines of the truck. You would have lots of work to make diamond plate fit the lines of your truck.

If you still think you can do it or don't care how it looks, I have way too much 1/8" diamond plate steel that I can let you have for cheap. I am moving to denver pretty soon so you could just come by and get it. Shipping anything that would work as armor would cost you more than it could possibly be worth to you.

Diamond plate isn't thick enough to be anything but bling.

Chris - I appreciate the offer and would like to take you up on it - are you actually moving the plate to Den with you?
Waskilly - Well, bling is about the last thing on my mind, but keeping the corners unmangled is my goal. The one hit I took so far has been from a tree branch, just enough to lightly dent the quarter panel; the diamond plate panels on another rig easily deflected the same tree branch. I figure the diamond plate has as much or more moxie than the structure that will be supporting it; so if I drop the whole rig on it, yeah it might bend, but the body behind and around it will be toast anyway.

I haven't decided yet on the plate. I still have like at least a 5' by 4' square. It's really heavy. I would have no where to put it. Still thinking though.

Check Wabbits homepage you need a bumper like that one (first pic on the left), and fill in the space between the top tube and lower tube with diamondplate. That'll get-R-done
