Man that was deep your lucky your truck still runs ..

Do it again , and tell the camera man to hold the camera at a better angle .

Brad. 10-19-2009 04:54 PM

Have the camera man in a boat in the water.

yotalaz 10-19-2009 04:54 PM

i didnt think it would be that deep! you can hear me say oh @^$&!! thats the first thing i thought that it would suck water up but it did well. thank god for those bfg's

BigBluePile 10-19-2009 04:55 PM

Got diff breathers?

pntbol11 10-19-2009 05:03 PM

Last time I went that deep my truck died and my starter solenoid shorted out. Point being. Some mud, dirt and bumpy trail are ok but no moe deep water for me.

camo31_10.50 10-19-2009 05:10 PM

yea..your camera guy sucks ballz..........

other than that..you did good..first thing i wanna do when i get into some deep water is stop..or slow down..and thats bad..need to keep on headin forward no matter what..LOL

theres some deep water close to my house..probably not much past my doors on my stock '86 4x4..and im too scared to go across it..whenever i get the 4runner runnin then i'll take her across there..LOL..its over a blacktop road too..so traction is not a problem..hahaha

nope the truck is bone stock.. make sense..my diffs probably have water in em now crap!:bang:

Matt16 10-19-2009 05:48 PM

Time for a new camera man. Better yet, have him stand on shore too.

The diffs will have water in them especially if you were driving a while before the submersion.

JeEVeS 10-19-2009 07:18 PM

"get out and film me im gonna do it again" so wheres the better video with the camera outside (just hoping)

x32 on the diff breathers. may as well snork it as well, go look at where your airbox is in the engine bay. than spray a house through the grill and see if it gets wet

Beaniam 10-19-2009 08:44 PM

What you gotta do is extend your diff breathers, put some silicone on your dizzy and give it a breather hose, and bring your intake up even if its just a little higher and up in the corner of the engine bay.

You should be pretty safe with that

algranger 10-19-2009 09:13 PM

Oh also p ut some silicone on your clutch for book where the fork goes into the trans

camo31_10.50 10-19-2009 09:25 PM

it also helps to have your exhaust out of the water...everybody calls me stupid and ignorant for puttin some stacks on my '80..well i remember being the only one carrying all of the people through the DEEEEP water out to the party's:guitar:

i've been thinking of ways to attach a hose or something similar to the tip of my exhaust on the 4runner...just for doing some deep water crossings..lol

i already know all the rest of the stuff to do..like get the computer into the glovebox..lmao..seal the dizzy..and the tranny..t-case as well..maybe even make a breather for the t-case..as well as the axles..might even replace the rubber on the doors and such to acquire a better seal..lol idk about ya'll but i hate the smell of moldy carpet..lol:hillbill:
