Damn! I have to sell my Yota!! This sucks!!!!
It's a '93 with 97,000 mi and I have to sell it to buy a Cherokee with 4 doors. I need room for my little boy. I hate to sell my truck!! The worst thing is that I wont be on Yota Tech as much. I just posted it on the Phoenix Craig's List.

I don't wanna have to do a S.A.S. Plus Jeep 4.0's, I know it's a bad word here, are pretty damn reliable. Plus I don't want the headache of a crappy yota 3.0 blowing a head gasket.

Haha! I actually came from the Jeep world. First I had a YJ Wrangler then a Cherokee XJ. I loved them both dearly and the mods were endless. I actually ran the Cherokee into the ground (it just died) and I was fortunate enough to find my 4Runner SR5 for the price I did.

I know, I expect to get slammed! I don't wanna do it but these cherokees are a steal right now! 2000's with under 100k are going for the same price as a '94 4-runner!!

Yeah, that's the only reason I'm lookin @ cherokees. I've always talked crap about the jeep knobs in their wranglers thinking that they can do anything because they just dropped 30,000 for their ride. Those guys are moroons! Yes, moroons. As I said before, the cherokees already have a solid axle and don't need much to do what my stock yota does. To me, it's a no-brainer.

I like Jeep's
My Wrangler was an 88' YJ carb. That thing was indestructible once I swapped out the stock Carter POS with a Weber 32/32. I regret selling it but I had to to get money for my house. Nothing like running around topless/doorless on a cool summer night!
But yea for the sake of your son and keeping you in the Yota community find a 4Runner!

That's too bad. But, let's face it...you don't HAVE to get a Jeep. You're choosing to get a Jeep. You do have some valid reasons, though. No shame in that.
Good luck on your next adventure.

I've had 2 Jeep Cherokee's a 2 door and a 4 door, both with the 4.0, and while I love my Toyota and have pretty much vowed to continue to buy Toyota's, I would have no problem buying another Jeep (yes I said it). The 4.0 has plenty of torque and is just about as reliable as a 22re (my 4 door hit 300,000 and my 2 door was around 250,000). Mods are endless. The major downsides I would say, are weak axles with anything over a 33 and unibody's for the cherokee's. Another thing I would recommend is trying to find a base model cherokee, as the little things like power windows and doorlocks aren't worth a crap on Jeeps. Just my 2 cents, i'm still Toyota all the way but I really can't knock Jeeps.

Wait a minute.....why don't you get a 1st gen 4rnr? Reliable, ample room for one boy, decent on gas, and you can even find an '85. One near me just sold.
