A Couple of IFS gear + locker ?'s
Hey guys, I was just browsing around the net for a IFS 5.29 gear set, locker and install kit but it seems like all the links I have on my computer are for solid axle company's. I tried surfing the net and I keep coming up with private places I've never really heard of. I tried searching here but I just come up with build threads, does anyone have any links too a good reputable place?
Another question too for you 4Runner v6 auto guys. I'm on 36's right now but the truck still feels a little sluggish, I don't know too much about gearing and ratios but would 5.71's be better for auto or is that a big no no? Sorry if that is a dumb question, I just have only seen auto/5.29 up too 36's and I am just wondering if there is a reason for that besides the smaller teeth that tend to sheer off of the 5.71's
I forgot to mention I am already 5.29 locked in the rear, I just never did the front because I was going to SAS but plans changed so right now I have to make due with what I've got, thats why I'm looking to build my ifs third
Thanks in advance

So are you looking for an IFS locker? I couldn't quite understand what you were asking in your post. If you need a locker, I got one. Lock Right never installed. $160 shipped and it's yours. Then you'd just need gears.

I would just keep an eye out on craigslist, pirate, and this forum for a complete ifs third member with a locker. They seem to come up really often from people who are getting rid of their stuff after a SAS.

I got a used front with 5.29's for $150 shipped from the pirate wanted section. Once they take it out a front diff is useless to most people. I don't have a locker in it yet but they're pretty easy to install (lockright, aussie anyway...). As for 5.71, they're probably a better choice for you since you have the auto. They're perfectly safe to run if you get them set up properly. I'd suggest sending it to Zuk if you go that route and letting him do it for you.

like ovrrdrive said, ZUK (member here on yotatech) seems to know quite a bit about the gears: http://gearinstalls.com/
