coolant temo sensor sheared off
 

So I was working on removing the coolant temp sensor from my 3vze when the top of it sheared off leaving the thin stem part in the engine. any ideas on how to fix that?

so where the wrench goes twisted off?

hmm.. maybe drill then easy out?

yeah the part that the rench grabs onto sheared of. I thought about drilling it out. I would need a supper long bit and I need to know the exact bit size to use and maybe some pointers on how to do it.

why do you need a long bit? just use a size that makes a good hole, but leaves enough material for an eazy out to grab on. got any pics?

sorry i didnt know what easy out was. ok so once i get the easy out in the hole what do i do?

tap it in to the hole that you drilled with a small hammer. then put a wrench on it and loosen. it might take a few tries.

you were turning it in the proper direction when it broke correct? (clockwise to tighten, and counter clock to loosen)

just checking lol.. you would be surprised of the stuff people do to there trucks by accident.

wow. this is going to be a real pain in the A. i think im going to have to remove as many of the coolant hoses as I can. any advise on that? luckily i wont have to drill anything. Just gotta find a easy out thats big enough to fit in the sensors hole.

i would drain the coolant first (if you have not already). other than that, its self explanatory.
