coolant spitting out of radiator
so i just flushed my radiator with some new 50/50 coolant, first drive i took it on i got spitting of coolant out the radiator cap along with some steam. First of all, i dont think my cap is that great, that could be one culprit. Could there just have been some air trapped in the radiator that was causing pressure? should i run it with the cap off for a while?

sounds to me like you need a new cap and to burp your system

Just let it sit and run with the cap off at idle. You can tel when the tsat open the fluid will flow thru, then stop when it closes. when it opens it may get low just topit off and let it cycle thru again and see what it does. a few cycles at idle with the cap off and topping it off when the tstat opens you should be good. Then put the cap back on and see what you got.

hope you filled up the return hose from the motor to the top of the radiator too to let some more air out.
|
thanks, yeah the caps gota go anyway, but ill try runnin it for a bit with the cap off

when you flushed, did you leave the t-stat in?
I've seen the chemicals in the flush treatments cause them to sieze. |

ugghh i tried that, but its still overheating what gives? bad thermo?

With the cap off could you see the water flowing thru the radiator when the tstat opened? Or did the water just sit in one spot?

How did you resolve the spitting/overheating after flush? Mine is doing the same.
