Coolant Line Identification
 

Hello All! I have a 1989 Toyota Pickup with the 3.0L V6 and manual transmission.

It is leaking from a metal coolant line and I can't find the name of it anywhere or where to get one (see pic). Can anybody help me?

You need to learn how to use Microsoft Paint; you could add an arrow and we wouldn't have to guess.

The only metallic part of the coolant system that I can see in your photo is the water outlet. http://www.toyotapartsoverstock.com/...rimLevel=18290 Is that what you think is leaking?

That line goes from the resonator (next to the air filter, part of the induction system) to the PAIR valve (rt side, near back of engine). It allows the PAIR valve to inject unmetered air into the exhaust stream.

If there is ANY liquid of any kind in that line, something is really messed up. It has no connection to coolant, fuel, oil, windshield cleaner, or anything other than air.

One of the five metal lines above it is the fuel return from the FPR. Sure it isn't leaking from that? The other four are three vacuum lines for the EGR, and one unmetered air line for the AC and Power Steering idle-ups.

JB Weld on that?

If you're seeing coolant there, are you sure it's not coming from the upper radiator hose connection there -- the screws/nuts that tighten down there sometimes will leak (shooting up instead of falling down as was your assumption -- remember coolant is pressurized)...

On the earlier 3VZ they used a coolent return from the heater that comes around to the front of the engine, Later Toy routed it under the lower intake manifold.

You can JB wield it, But suggest you take it off and do a nice braze or wield on it, Radiator shop can do a nice patch for cheap.
