Coolant issues

I have an 87 yota with the 22R and I am new with yota's. My coolant resevoir keeps going dry and before you think I am an idiot ill tell you that the resevoir does not have a leak, the radiator is not leaking and my oil level shows no sign of coolant. The truck runs amazing, I have no issues other than the coolant dissapearing. Please help...:pop:

How fast are you losing coolant? Is your radiator cap in good condition?

well I went through the entire resevoir in a week and a half and it is a brand new radiator cap

Coolant pressure test. Pull the air hose off the throttle body and look for seepage from the IAC/AAV (idle air control/auxiliary air valve - the cold idle up valve). If you don't see the leak, try a leakdown test.

I suppose that's another question: is it a 22R or 22RE?

22R = carbureted
22RE = fuel injected

If carbed, while you're searching for leaks check under the intake manifold. A coolant hose runs under it.

It is a 22R (carb). I think the guy that sold it to me knew that it had issues because while goin threw some basic maintence I noticed that the coolant cap had no pic-up line into the resevoir. I thought that was kind of fishy. but I will try that pressure test that you had mentioned and the other places to check under the manifold and let you know what is up...

Thanks for the help
