Completely lost with clutch/tranny problems..
Alright... First off, its a 86 yota pickup x-cab.. 4x4, with a 5 spd manual. 22r carbed motor. (someone along the road swapped the EFI motor out).
I have been driving this truck for a couple months now.. its always been a good truck. But for the last couple weeks I noticed a few shifting problems. At first there would just be some odd noises from the clutch.. They would stop as soon as I let off the clutch. Just whineing at first. Then I noticed it was getting real tough at times (sometimes it would shift great) to get into gear, almost like it wasnt disengaging enough or something. And now.. the ˟˟˟˟˟ really hit the fan. The truck will start okay,, but as soon as I press in the clutch it makes a god aweful grinding sound, and if I try to shift it just grinds and will not go into gear... When the truck is off the transmission shifts fine through all the gears.
So obviously my clutch or something in that area is shot.. I am just looking for a place to start. I am no newbie to the world of "DIY truck repairs", But I have not done any clutch/tranny work yet. And I really dont have the cash to have a shop do it. I figured i'd just get some help from here, Round up a couple buddies, get a case of bud light, and go nuts. haha.
The fluid is at a appropriate level, and the clutch lever seems to have great pressure.
Any help is appreciated... And I have a nice digital camera so I can take any pictures neccessary to help diagnose/fix this problem.

Sounds to me like it might be the throwout bearing. Sometimes people try to cut corners and dont replace the bearing.
If you dont have any experience with this, I think I would take it to a mechanic whom you trust and have them fix it for you.
