Cold air intake 91 Toyota Pickup

Would a cold air intake be worth buying for my 91 Toyota Pickup? How much will it effect my MPG?

Welcome Sutcavage. Most will say its just bling, as the stock set up it very efficient. In reality unless the air is taken from a cool place its just drawing hot air from the engine bay. OK so you put one in, I don't think it hurts or helps mileage or power. its noisy and it looks good. My .02 PS I have had my truck 26 years. First 3 years a stock filter and box. 20 years with a K&N in the stock box. Then 2 years back to a stock filter. Now a cone filter, (CAI) oops hot air intake. I notice no real difference.

The reason I did mine is that the cone was free and I welded the mount out of stainless. OK the smaller filter was purchased via a gift card, 8 bucks or something like that.

I think the vehicles that benifit the most from the cone intakes have higher revving engines for peak horsepower. It definitely helped my CRX. Plus it does sound and look cool.

The stock set up is very easy to get wet. The only advantage to me is relocating to an area that doesn't draw in water. Anyone who has ever wheeled a Toyota knows what happens when the AFM gets wet. Not fun.
