CLUTCH/START/CANCEL button
#21
Thanks to you for asking. After seeing this thread I wasn't sure whether or not I had the button, went out to the truck to check and sure enough there it is. Of course I had to try it out, even after seeing the warnings the first thing I do is forget to take it out of gear and bump into the wall of the parking garage.....
Definitely a cool feature.

Never really noticed it or anything until recently! Definitely one of the top features on the truck! Best tip, obviously from previous posts, if you're using it for the first time, don't be facing a wall!

Not afraid to push the button any more
I was hoping someone would bring this up, I was pretty sure that it worked like that but was afraid to push the button for fear it was a kill switch I didn't know about. I will plug it back in now and try to find a respectable location to put it in. It is a smart idea to have one in 4wheel drive, I dread to think what could happen when in a vertical position having to let off the brake to push in the clutch. Totally makes sense

1994 yot
I have a 1994 Toyota 22RE and I used my clutch start cancel and it was in gear it , didn't jump forward or anything the idol was just really weird sounding and it was almost like it was dieseling out.

Are you telling us about your experience or do you need help with a problem?

Clutch safety cancel (CSS) is not really meant to be for extended period in gear.
Did idle change when you released e-brake, or put it in neutral?
Probably worm out clutch pads so it slips. Dieseling from engine struggling to overcome the partial/slipping load.
I always park my truck in gear BUT almost always start in neutral with CSS on because I take a few seconds to make adjustments to things around me. Also a good idea for truck to idle for a few seconds before driving off.
