Clutch release slave cylinder

Hi,

I need some help with putting back together everything after an engine rebuild.

On the back of my cylinder (the opposite end of the spring which connects to the yolk in the tranny - facing the front of the truck) there is a semi flexible cable which has and end on it that looks like a bolt on ground.

Pictures habve told me this is the clutch line but whetre does it connect?

From where it was formed (the cable is flexible but has memory probably a plastic sleeve over a steel cable), it seems that it connected to the bottom bolt on the starter where it attaches to the transmission housing.

doers this make any sense?

It is a 95 4runner, 4x4, 2.4l.

I have called the dealership and all I got was confused grunts and groans.
It doesnt seem that this loop should be on the back of my slave cylinder.

Please help as Im stumped and dont want to put it back together just to find I have to tear it down again.`
