Clutch recommendations for a stock 92 4WD 22RE

Hello all,

I am in the process of replacing the clutch in my completely stock 92 22RE 4WD pickup. Wondering what is the best (longest-lasting) clutch to get with about the same pedal feel? Should I replace my flywheel with something better or just have it cut if it is scored? Truck has 120K, just bought it a week ago from an Arizona owner (rust-free!) Thanks!

Red face

Marlin Crawler 1200 # clutch kit would be my choice.

I have one Aisin and one LUK can`t tell much difference

I have had the Marlin Crawler #1200 in a couple of trucks including my current one and love it.

120k isn't really much on these trucks. If the flywheel isn't scored or overheated too badly a resurface is a good thing. I've resurfaced a number of them and have never had a problem.

The driver who took the truck off the tractor-trailer burned the crap out of the clutch, he left a chain attached the the truck and kept trying to move it, until he realized darn thing was still chained up

Resurfacing may work. It may look like it work but didn't after re-installing and driving. Resurfacing may not work at all.

Replacement option would be stock. Heavier for torque. Lighter for acceleration.

Decision... decisions

Yeah, I would not want to put it all back together and find out the flywheel resurfacing wasn't good enough. Do you know the weight of the stock one? Rockauto has a bunch of cheaper ones but is the quality as good as the ones that are 3x that price at LCE or Marlin Crawler? I should get to removing the flywheel this week to have a good look at it.

Thanks for the link, wonder who makes the flywheel they sell? Seems hard to find a non-chinese flywheel unless I spend megabucks and use LCE. (I have read that Luk are made in China?)

Not sure where those are made. But those guys will spin on their balancer to make sure they are golden before they ship it out to you. so it should be a safe bet.
I've got one in my truck, and so far no issues.
