Clutch hose connection torque?

I'm replacing the clutch flex line in my '90 v6 truck. I've never connected hard line to flex hose. Is there anything I need to do to ensure a leak-free connection? How much torque should I apply to the connection? (I'm talking about the flared end of the hard-line where it goes into the female portion of the flex hose; the nut pulls these two parts together to form the connection).

Can't see any torque figures in the manual, but for the brakes it gives 11 ft lbs for the lines. I would think the clutch would be the same. When I did mine I just tightened it up with a wrench, you don't need to have it too tight because of the flare. If it leaks tighten it a bit more.

If its an aftermarket ss make sure it has the toyota "inverted cone" inside the female part...

it's an OEM replacement hose...

...but it's an in longer than the original and uses only the bigger clip to fasten it to the bracket. The original also uses smaller c-clips. I wonder if Toyota changed the design, or maybe dealer gave me the wrong part. Regardless, it seems to work fine, so I'll go with it.

I snugged up the connections as best I could with my 10mm open-end wrench and it seems to be holding so far. Thanks.

It doesnt take much torque to get it to snug up.
There's a tapered cone seating surface...

As long as it doesnt rattle int eh bracket the larger "brake" clip is fine.

The larger clip is easier to remove when rusted up as there is a lip on it to grab..

I know this is old and dead, but I can't figure out how to remove those clips !

This line is the only thing stopping me from driving my truck after changing every possible part when I did the clutch.

I tried that, they are stiff ..... i'm replacing this line because it was rusted to my master cylinder.....

I'm about ready to just start cutting with a dremel.

Also note they are extremely hard to get to for me, since my truck is a little higher. Have to use a step stool to reach in the hood and can't reach from laying on the ground.

I'm 6ft.
