Choking/ gagging issue

I have a 94 toyota pick up and it chokes out while I accelerate. Have just changed the spark plugs, wires and the fuel filter. Have been searching all of the forums for answers. Any answers would be greatly appreciated. http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j3...omas420/10.jpg

I agree.... engine problems were the last on my mind. :banger:

i thought of an old girl friend as soon as i read it. ohm your TPS, and see what you get.

gamerndm 03-14-2008 03:18 AM

agreed on the thread name lol..

but anyway, that sounds similar to what mine did when i messed up the timing, it would idle fine, and if you accelerated reaaally slowly it was ok, but if you gave it too much gas it almost died.

could also be a fuel pressure problem, or maybe a leak in the intake?

EDIT: oh yeah, tortis could have it too, check the TPS

When is the last time you changed the Oxygen sensor?

Flash319 03-14-2008 12:06 PM

Check,
TPS,
AFM,
Does it do it when it is hot or cold or does not matter?

What engine 22RE or 3Slow?

Matt16 03-14-2008 12:16 PM

I thought this thread was about something else, NVM.

Flash319 03-14-2008 12:21 PM

I did to that is why I was surprised when the picture was of a guy in a truck..............

Matt16 03-14-2008 01:03 PM

Maybe there's someone else in the truck, and for some reason, we can't see them.

djthomas 03-15-2008 01:22 AM

Just got the truck so am not sure when the o2 sensor was changed, thats what i am thinking it is. Tried to take it to checker to test for codes but none of their attachements fit the diagnostic fitting. Looks to be happening more when its cold. 22re

Maybe change the gag ball, or the leather is too tight.

Sorry couldent resist

Flash319 03-15-2008 06:41 AM

O2 sensor will not make that kind of problem. When the engine is cold the O2 does not do anything. Sounds like an electrical problem. Did you change your cap and rotor latley? Plug wires?
