Chirping sound under hood
I hope someone can diagnose or help from my description. I haven?t had time to get pics yet.
I have an odd chirping sound from under my hood. It seems to come from a component on the front, driver?s side of the engine, up at the top of the engine. I expect it does it all the time but I only hear it at lower RPMs with less noise.
I thought it might be something with the EGR but it looks like those components on the passenger?s side. Could it be something with the cold start injector?
I?ll add pictures to the post as soon as I can.
Thanks.

Holy crap! I can't believe that I left that out. You mean you guys can't look at my screen name and use your ESP to fill in those minor details?
It's a '90 pick-up, 5-spd, 3.0L, 4x4. Only minor mods of 1" body lift (added yesterday and chirping was already going on), TJ helper coils, and torsion bar adjust to level out the front.

My wife's 4Runner makes a chirping sound from the front end near the steering gear box and it turns out to be one of the clips that secures the grille is broken. The grille in that area vibrates at certain speeds and sounds like a small bird.

When I listen to the engine running the sound is not coming from the belts. It's behind them (closer to the driver) and seems to come from a component. I haven't been able to find a good picture of it, or that general area under the hood, on the web so I'll have to take one tonight and post it.
As far as the belts go they look ok. No splintering, no cracks, good tension, they have about 25-30k on them.
