Cheapest and Best way to get my truck running again

I found out 2day my motor in my truck has decided to retire, lol whats gona be the best/cheapest way to get it back running, (new motor, rebuilt motor, maybe a 6 cylinder, ?????? etc)

motor

the motor that is in it now is a 22r.
how much would it cost and is it possible to put a newer
toyota v6 motor in it??

more info please.

What you ask is more complicated than you think. The cheapest way would probably be to rebuild your current engine, but without info, we can't tell if its cheaper to rebuild, or to simply buy another 22re. You could also buy a V6, but unless you get it used, it will probably be more expensive than the previous option, and will require modification. And putting in a newer toyota V6 will require more modification and be more expensive. But as in most cases, bigger is better.

what all will i have to change out if i go to a 3.4 and will i still have to get the 4.88 gears?
