hey there.. so i had a blown head gasket, (2 cups of water in No6 cylinder) had a friend take it apart and then dissapear.. after a few months i was able to find someone to help rebuild it for me (hopefully all proper).. except when we go to start it, it turns over but wont start.. theres a tiny bit of spark when i pull out a plug and test it (only by looking, i dont have a tester) there is only a small seemingly innfrequent spark (but i dont have anything to compare to.. i dont know how strong or rapidly it should be going when turning over? but it doesnt seem right) anyways, checked all wires, ignition coil.. (is there anyway to check the ignitor?) and then turned to distributor, it doesnt appear to come apart with a pin like i see many on the web and the hanes manuel doesnt discuss it at all... it seems like its a sealed unit and i may just have to raplace the whole thing?.. what am i missing here

I would check your timing, if the timing os off it will turn over and spark, but not fire.

Yes, check your timing first. There isn't much to the distributor to 'take apart'. If your timing is good then check your coil.
