buying a new 3.0 3vze engine wondering what block i should buy heres some links

Ok my 3.0 has just started to eat coolant and the exhaust smells sweet so im guessing the head gasket is starting to blow eh? the truck has 194000 miles and i heard they liek to blow head gaskests every 100k so its almost to 200k now and it has a head gasket replaced around 100k. I dont want to rebuild this block becuase its old and already blown a head gaskest. So heres some links i have with some engines i might buy im saving up till i get enough cash.

http://www.toyotatruckpart.com/defau...godVj6G1w#null $1500.00 + shipping with 3 year warenty

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TOYOT...Q5fAccessories
$2000.00 on ebay but has 190 hp 200+ torqe looks like a nice engine but not sure if it will last.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/3VZE-...Q5fAccessories
normal 3.0 cost around $1500 + shipping but they GUARANTEE the engine and will repairs no matter what it almostl ooks like its unbeleavible but its GUARANTEE they will repair it if it breaks.
ahh why is it changing oh well lol ok well help me out peopls please i want my truck to a good running truck its going to be pushing 38 X 15 tsl radials.

MAKE SURE the guarantee includes LABOR; most shops like this will guarantee the engine but it doesn't include labor which will KILL you later...usually after @ 15,000 miles or less.

Having gone this route before, or very similar, I would steer as far away from it as possible.

At the end of the day, you'll still have a 3.0. For about double the money you can have a 5vz installed, which I would consider more than double the engine.

I just called my wrecker, $1250 for a complete engine with ECU, then you're looking at about $1700.00 for a complete conversion kit.

You'll need a bit of a body lift to fit it in, but most folks can live with that.

links

do you have any links for conversion kits? for 3.4 i looked into i have the money to do it its just i dont feel like messing with the wiring harness I just did a engine swap on a honda civic i had and i couldent figure out why it was idling so high i dont want to mess the wiring harness on this rig to any tips ? i could take the 3.0 out and swap a block in like 1 or 2 days but getting body lift/messing with the wireing harness + engine mounts i wouldent do it unless it was a bolt in kit. i dont really care about labor its i jsut want a good 3.0 block you think the hi pro 3.0 is good? I mean it comes with adjustable valves to.

an engine swap will require changing the harness. the 3.4 is an OBD-II engine and the 3.0 is an OBD-I engine.

Re: Motorcrate Engines
Just yesterday got part of my core charge money back from motorcrate engines. They had the block since before Christmas and kept giving me excuses why the money was not refunded yet (holiday, weather, billing cycle etc.). I was told that the block was OK and it still took over another month. The last email I sent them was a little pissy...I was tired of the whole thing. However, my core refund check was reduced $100 (PIA charge I think) for what they now said was a bad snout on the crank. It was not damaged when I shipped it to them. Go figure...anyway I personally would not deal with Motorcrate Engines ever!

Im in the same boat as Norcali.. I have been looking into the long blocks as well. At the moment I am contemplaeting just putting a set of Reman'd heads and replacing the head gaskets while I still can. Then later on Im thinking of checking into a D.O.A Racing engine.

Check into OREGON ENGINE REBUILDERS I was talking to them and they give you a AS LONG AS YOU OWN NO QUESTIONS ASKED WARRENTY on there engines and for 1,400 bucks you can't go wrong they have a hoped up engine as well.
I asked them about the warranty and they told me since I am on the east coast for non major repairs they will let me take it to a local shop and cover it but major repairs it has to be shipped back to them and shipping is on me seems fair to me and I know of at least 2 guy's here that ave recently bought there motors and are so far very happy with both customer service and the engine itself one even said they still warranted the engine knowing he installed it himself.

Here's there ad on e-bay

Oregon Engine Rebuilders Inc. was established in 1983 and remanufactures all types of engines for automotive, light truck, industrial and marine applications. OERI car and light truck engines come with a LIFE TIME UNLIMITED MILEAGE WARRANTEE to the original buyer. As long as you own your vehicle, we will stand behind our product. If you have any problem with the motor, just return it to our shop and we will repair it free of charge, as long as it has not been abused, no matter how many miles have been put on it! This kind of offer is unheard of in the industry and the only exception is industrial, commercial or marine units which come with a two year unlimited milage warrantee.

In addition, we offer an exclusive 30-DAY SATISFACTION GUARANTEE. If you are not 100% satisfied with our product, after installing it and driving it - assuming it has not been abused - return it to OERI and we will refund to you 100% of the purchase price!

The following is a partial list of the new parts installed in OERI engines: New pistons, wrist-pins, pin-bushings, rings, rod-bearings, main-bearings, new timing belt, oil pump, soft-plugs, valves, cam shaft and a full set of gaskets. All OERI engines are stripped to a bare block, hot-tanked, and re-machined bringing every surface and every tolerance back to original specifications through the use of state-of-the-art Sunnen equipment. Also available are RV stage2 or torque cams that inhance the engines efficency. Check our ebay store for listings.

OERI engines are sold on an "exchange basis".We can have your engine shippped to us first, or you can pay a core-charge of $500 in addition to the purchase price until the rebuildable core is returned to us. Shipping will run between $150-$295 one way, Hawaii included and just a little more for Alaska. I looked for a used 3.0 engine to rebuild. After taking apart three of them and not finding one worth rebuilding I decided I’m done with the 3.0. I thought about swapping in a Lexus V8’ but decided instead to wait for Diesel Conversion Specialists to come out with their kit to put a Volkswagen turbodiesel in trucks that had the 3.0.

A 2.0 L four-cylinder diesel out of a mid 2000s Passat will make 175 hp and 325 foot pounds of torque with just a reprogram of the ECU and 30 mpg.

I took my old block to a local shop to have it bored over and inspected because I was scared by the Ebay shops. It cost me more that way, but I could inspect the work before paying them. When I took it in they looked like I was crazy for rebuilding a Toyota engine (Northern Indiana, Chevy trucks are made here)...
