hmm...I bought the axle with the lower mounts already attached ... You may have just given me a new project ! Might be a B#*@ch to cut 'em off...

You should still have more bracing on the shock hoop.
Some 1.25"/ .120 wall tubing attached to the hoop and braced to the top of the frame would suit you well.

Theres a reason why that stuff is included with shock hoop kits.

Correct scuba , I forgot to mention that I will be bracing soon , but I needed to get the shock on for daily ...

Any suggestions on how brace it best , Y shape , V ? Separate legs ...?

Just wanted to wrap this thread up ...

I ended up reinforcing both sides of the front frame with this pre made , pre cut piece of 3/16"

I reinforced the hoop with some 1/8" tubing

Overall it was a lot of work to fix the broken mount , and I should have reinforced the hoop from the beginning , live and learn .

this is a great thread. im about to do the same with my 84 Yota. broke the shock and tore into the frame on the passenger side. this gave alot of insight on what i need to do next. Thanks!!


anyone have recommendations on better shock hoops?
