brake swap questions

Ok so I've got the brake parts from my 95 runner pulled, I didnt pull the calipers yet but am curious about the swap regarding proportioning. I've done some searching and have yet to see a response.

I plan on installing the dual booster and master first. Until I'm certain about the affects of the larger calipers and rotors.

The parts are going on my 87 pickup.

anyone? I'd love to take advantage of this great day to do a front swap. I'm going to mount the new booster and master cylinder and have my gf help me bleed the whole system, but I'd love to get the calipers and my 95 rotors on the front end of my ifs 87 truck. Are the rotors what I should use, I've seen others mention fj rotors but not sure which ones.

Rotors should be the same on your truck you will just need to trim the back plate

Yeah I've read that. That wont be a problem. I'm more concerned with the proportioning with the front being able to grab better. Anyone done this without messing with an aftermarket proportioning valve or other modification to keep the braking balanced.

no issues with biasing. Rotors don't determine that anyway.

I am running a dual and t-100 1" master on mine with my 87 4cyl calipers. What you might see different is where the pedal feels it grabs. I like the pedal to grab a little higher so I like the combo I am running. If I were to switch to v6 calipers I might get a "lower" pedal.

Haven't heard of any problem with the front over braking unless they don't use the v6 master and booster

Thanks guys, I'm going to mount up the dual and the master from my runner. Try it out next week when I get my motor back together and installed and go from there. I like the pedal hard as well. I'm use to driving air brakes.
