Brake overhaul questions
90 toy p/u 22re 4x4 auto
I have replaced a leaking master cylinder, had the drums turned and installed new rear shoes. Front pads were about 65% so i didnt change them. Still could not get my truck to hold without moving while in gear. Bled the brales until all air and old fluid was out. Still wasnt working
Changed out the brake booster today and found my leaking master cylinder filled my brake booster with fluid. After i changed it i have good brakes for the first time!
However the pedal isnt stiff like i would think it would be. Should i rebleed them now the system is working correctly?
Im thinking about changing the wheel cylinders out while ive done all this. They are the original ones so its prob about time.

Pull back the dust boots on the wheel cylinders, if you find fluid, replace them, if you don't, don't spend money you don't have to. You might try bleeding them again but you're not going to get a rock hard pedal with stock hoses in place and even with steel braided you'll end up flexing the pedal bracket more than you already do.
My pedal isn't super solid with the truck running but she stops good and that's what counts.
