Bought a wiring harness to swap into my truck. Problems!!!!

Hey guys. I just bought a wiring harness for my 1990 truck and I ran into some problems. I started just swapping the harness and I found that the coolant temperature sensor and fan switch had different plugs. That was no biggy, I could get new ones.

But then, I noticed that the new harness had a diagnostics box while mine did not. Another problem I ran into was my wiring harness has a resistor box while the new one did not.

Then the biggest issue was that the fuel injector plugs were different too. Did I get completely the wrong year? or is mine screwed up in the first place? If someone could help me clear this up, it would help me a lot! Thanks in advance!

You should of gave them your part # from your old wire harness so they know what year and model your truck is.

well, a guy sold me a harness and ECU and when I looked up the ECU number, it came up as a 1990 4spd-MT 22re truck. But I'm beginning to think maybe it was a 1990 ECU, but maybe a different year truck.

i really hate saying this, but your 100% best bet is to go to the stealership. if THEY mess up, then its on them and you can get an exchange. private sellers rarely give you your money back. im just wondering about that ECU... im not sure if you have to have the ECU from that year, or if an ECU from ANY 22RE will work.
