Bolt for exhast manifold (22re)...?
Ok, well I've just about driven the poor parts guy at the Toyoter dealship crazy trying to find me this bolt. He's ordered me three different flippin different bolts, and they've either been the wrong diameter, wrong thread, or wrong length...
All I need, is this bolt:
Does anyone what what size it is so I can go to ace hardware and get this bugger? The backfiring is driving me crazy!

Exact same stud is stripped on mine...thinking it's the culprit for my bad pinging and such when cold. From what I've read that one is subjected to the most heat weakening the threads...

take the one next to it off and go back and show them what you need, its a stud as someone said earlier, if you cant find it there i would try and check some other places, lce is good but on most all of their stuff they charge too much

I snapped that one on my 83.
Same thread on both sides ( i just flipped it and used it like a bolt)
take a nut from the other one take it down and match it up to a bolt.
They might even have a stud there, the Ace hardware by my house all most has every little odd ball nut and bolt you can think of . I haven't really gone in there and not come out with what i needed.

I had asked the Yota parts man for some exhaust studs for likewise, they worked but were shorter than stock. The studs become bolts when the nuts freeze up, and the whole thing backs out of the aluminum head... :-(
and yeah, a GOOD ACE hardware store has the STUDS for you.

But yeah, at my shop we have this 5 gallon paint bucket filled up to the brim (must weigh a good 80lbs!) with nothin but assorted nuts and bolts. Took me a good 4 hours, but I tried every bolt that came close to the right size, and none of em worked, so its gotta be an oddball size. Though I did find a bolt that worked for that huge seatbelt anchor, so that time spent diggin through the ****-bucket wasnt a complete loss...

The ones I've run into are fine thread (1.25).
Might ask Ted (engnbldr) - there is hardware set that comes with Top Line heads, he might be able to provide you. The other alternative would be to pull one out of a used 22RE head.. there have to be about a million around.
It *might* not want to go into that hole due to being stripped/misassembled to begin with. It's pretty common for that last bolt to fail, based on what I've seen of Toyota's and Z-cars (similiar motor design).
Consider a helicoil.. Which probably would require manifold removal.

There are two length studs on a stock manifold, short ones are Toyota 90116-10064 (bottom 4) and the long ones are 90116-10067 (upper 4). I used 8 long ones on my LCE header and it worked fine. The nuts are Toyota 90179-10175. Should be about $1 for the nut (they are locking) and $0.75 or $1 for the stud. They are 10mmx1.25, I think (they take a 14mm wrench, so that should be 10mm bolts).

No problem. I'm a habitual note keeper, so I've been there. You might still need to re-tap the hole and maybe even need to rethread it with a Helicoil. Just so you're aware.
