Body straightening or door alignment- 4Runner
A year ago, I tipped the truck on its side. The doors opened and closed as easily as they did before, but they looked pretty ugly and the windows didn't open. I bought some rust and dent free doors and installed them, but they don't fit right. it appears the front passenger door is sitting about a 1/4" tool low or too far in- I'm not sure which.
I know there is som adjustability to the doors, latches and even perhaps the hinges, so perhaps i will be able to have the doors sit properly through adjustments.
Any one have any experience with anything remotely like this? What did you do. If the body is bent, can the body be pulled out treating it like a unibody chassis?

Alright, I had to shim the hinge a bit with 3/8 plate and adjust the bolts etc, but they fit. They are only a little more difficult to close than the drivers side doors. You wouldn't think twice about if you weren't familiar with the history of the truck.
I used rubber sealant around the hinges (like the factory does) and painted over it. You would never guess there had been a repair.

Its kind of fun to drive around with no doors, it gives a nice open-air experience. Great visibility, even I can shoulder check now.
I had to swap out the locks on the doors so that my key works in the door, so I saved my door handle.
doors don't line up anywhere near right. Did I bent the body in the roll-over? Yes, but it turns out only about 1.5-2.0mm.
I removed the front fender so that I could have a look at the hinges.
Hinges shimmed.
Rubber sealant around the hinge keeps the rust away. An added benefit is that no one will ever know that the body had to be shimmed as the factory-built body uses rubber sealant around the hinges as well.
My truck no longer looks like it had a rough trip through Bagdad, or for that matter, Surrey.
Only one door dent where the previous owner of the doors slid his truck off a slick rock into a log.
