blown headgasket - parts advice
well unfortunately my 86 22r blew its first hg, at just under 185k(most likely more, the odo is off because of the bigger tires)
I dont want to get a new head, rebuild the head because i fear that to much compression will f*(& up the bottom end of this tired motor.
i was keeping a list of parts today while trying to pull the head.
Headgasket
Head Bolts $25 from engn bldr
timing chain kit(since im doing hg, might as well) $50 from engnbldr
fuel pump
fuel filter
water pump(should i replace this? im assuming its stock)
valve cover gasket(its only a couple months old, but when i pulled the cover it is ripped in 2 places, wasnt leaking but should be replaced probably
exhaust manifold gasket
thermostat(was having overheating problems)
https://www.1sttoyotaparts.com/partscat.html
these are all toyota parts right, and not just cheap aftermarket parts that "fit Toyota"
also, anyone have advice on getting the exhaust manifold away from the exhaust? i cant loosen the 3 nuts holding it together.
thanks yt
