Blowing white smoke, not the Head gasket??

Hey there, a few months back I was driving to school, my 88 4runner 22re started overheating so I let her sit, then... white smoke. It was a 12 km drive. So I thought HG, my roommate who is BMW mechanic and I began taking it apart with the intention of doing the HG but stopped because she seamed real clean and fine inside. Here are some notables.

No Coolant in my oil, and no oil in my coolant

only the 1/4 cylinders looked clean or steamed.

she runs rough and is definitely burning coolant somewhere.

any ideas and or suggestions? or still could be the Head gasket?

my roommate is bringing home a borescope this weekend and we plan on pressure testing the coolant system to see the leak.

some history on the truck.
toyota mech owned and serviced w/records from 200,000km-370,000 km
I bought the truck at 370,000 and blew the head gasket on a road trip at 405,000 km.
I got it rebuilt with an RV cam by a reputable shop... BUT the guys I had throw the motor in definitely were sub par to say the least. Now at 430,000 it overheated but nothing to the extent of the previous.

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

Blowing white smoke, running rough, burning coolant and overheating sounds like a head gasket to me.

Yep, Its your head gasket. Also check your timing chain and make sure it didn't eat through the timing cover.

A crack in the exhaust port could cause white smoke, but it wouldn't show up in the cylinders.
