Best thermostat for COOL

Hello - What are the P/N, specs & source of that special thermostat that never lets a 22RE (1986) overheat & keeps it COOL?
One mechanic put one in then moved away. It worked great & I'm a 4 cyl RV.

Hmmm also I overheated uphill 1/4th mile to 225 - Then dummy me turned off the engine & left it to talk to a friend - returning to see the gauge at 250 & The engine wouldn't start ill it cooled off. What damage did I do??

Any & all insight appreciated...

Heat Soak - WHEW!

WHEW! On a Sunday aching with dread, I thank you for that!!
I'll hope you are right for me on this one.
Know what could make it overheat? I have a new clutch fan & it's been running 180 to 210.
Thanks again for some weekend relief...

Are you not suppose to turn it off if it overheats?
Why are you dumb?

Helpful Thanks:-)))
I'll ask about this tsat, yet I believe it might be the one...
My radiator is 3 yrs. old. When getting a new engine, best to get another rad??
I was told that if the 2 sensors on this new engine show signs of overheating, that this voids the 3 yr. warranty - So I'm hoping I didn't mess up turning it off. Time will tell..............
