Best Places for Used 1st Gen 4Runner Parts?
What's the list of the best places to source used 1st gen 4Runner parts? I've been searching Ebay for weeks, but struggling with these:
1) OEM rear non-step chrome bumper, corners, brackets, and hardware 2) Drivers SR5 Gray carpet kick panel 3) Rear seat hinge covers in gray 4) Good OEM or Aftermarket floor mats (suggestions?) 5) OEM front wheel well and engine covers / splash guards (I’m sure I can make these) I've called: - Yota Yard - 4Runner House - Rancho Toyota Parts - TLS Auto Recycling - Jim's Used Toyota Truck Parts The rear bumper seems to be the hardest one. I already have the pieces that go from the corners to the wheel wells. Any ideas, places to call, and leads etc is appreciated. |
Your best bet is to search all all the 4runner forum for sale sections .
You might need to have a bumper built to your specs The things your looking for are not really needed to make your vehicle move are going to be so very hard to find While drive line parts are quite easy |
Man I believe I threw away my rear bumper when I replaced it with a beefy steel one, I'll look in the attic just in case it is sitting up there, but I don't think so.
I have had the best luck scouring the forums, watching for someone parting out a truck. Where I live there are only a few u pull it junk yards, and only once have I ever seen a first gen there. |
If you want OEM floor mats, you can still purchase a front set for a second generation 4Runner. Some members on YotaTech have said they fit a first generation 4Runner pretty well: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Toyota-Pick...ty!97140!US!-1
The rest of the parts are going to be hard to find. I wish you luck! :safari: |
Contact this guy for the rear bumper:

I might have one or two of the hinge covers in grey. I’ll have to check the garage. |

Any salvage yards that specialize in 1st Gen 4Runners besides the ones below that I should be calling?
- Yota Yard - 4Runner House - Rancho Toyota Parts - TLS Auto Recycling - Jim's Used Toyota Truck Parts |
Charles - I was in the attic for something else and looked around, I did not stash my old rear bumper up there, sorry, almost sure at this point that I threw it away. There HAS to be tons of people with spare OEM rear bumpers from swapping to aftermarket ones....just have to find those people. Did you see the fiberglass ones?

Craigslist led me to a guy with 3 1st gens in a barn in Indiana - sourced 75% of what I needed from him that is now in the mail. Ebay led me to a guy who had a rear bumper (wasn’t listed) and it’s in the mail. Anyone have 1-2 cargo carpet trim end cap (just the gray plastic thing on the end of the metal trim piece) laying around that you could throw in an envelope to me - if so, PM me. I’ve got 2 good ones and 1 that is repairable. See pic below - it’s a small piece that is hard to describe.https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.yot...5e23d05e8.jpeg This piece and a gray SR5 Drivers Kick panel are all I have left to source. |
Those are behind the rear seats.

Correct. Attach to the rear seat and hold the cargo carpet on. Just behind the headrests. |

Thanks for looking. I'm searching, but I can't find hardly any! I haven't seen the fiberglass ones - do you have a link?
