Ball joint spacer install help

92 4runner, I bought ball joint spacers and lc coils. I was wondering if it was possible to just bend the extra metal on the control arm instead of grinding it? I don't mind grinding it but I'm at school and live in an apartment and if you make any noise they come yelling at you to stop so I'm looking at different options. If I have to I can wait till I go home to use my dads shop but wanted to get it done now. Thanks for any help

From my experience no you have to grind it or cut it away, it is fairly thick. Even if you could bend it, it would probably cause a fracture to start so I wouldn't do it anyway.

How hard is it to remove the control arm? Undo torsion bar and take out the 3 bolts ontop?
